Former team member Tommy Walker has died at the age of 94
We’ve learned that a former member of BSARU, Tommy Walker of Kelso died recently at the age of 94.
Tommy’s son, Graeme told us that his dad, “was a team member in the late 1960’s and early-1970’s with Howard Woodward, Bill Mitchell, Dave Dempster, Ernie Blood, Jock McCraw, the Gibson Brothers,” to name a few.
“Although having left the UK in the mid-70’s, Tommy returned recently and would specifically visit the Border Hotel on his birthday to re-live his memories of team meets and post-‘shout’ beers when the landlord was Gordon Townsend.”
Our condolences to the Walker family.
