CALL OUT 04/11/2013

The team was called out overnight to search for a missing Wallyford man.  Rescue 131 and SARDA also joined the search and thankfully the man was found alive by one of the dog teams.

CALL OUT 21/10/2013

The team was paged to search for 5 walkers, lost on the Pennine Way.  Northumberland/North of Tyne teams were also involved.

Rescue 131 from RAF Boulmer located and picked up the 5, returning them to our control point at Pennymuir Hall, where they were treated by team medics.

CALL OUT 25/09/2013

BSARU was paged to assist in the search for an elderly male, missing from Jedburgh.  Thankfully, he was found safe and well, soon after the team arrived on scene.

CALL OUT 04/09/2013

The team was paged along with TVMRT, BWRT and SARDA, to search fo a missing pensioner in Dalkeith. The callout continued until 6/9/2013.  Sadly, police located a body on day 4 of the search.

BSARU was paged to assist Tweed Valley MRT in the search for an elderly lady in the Chesters area south of Hawick.  Sadly a body was found and recovered.   BWRT and SARDA teams were also in attendance.

CALL OUT 21/06/2013

The team was paged in the early hours to search for a missing man in the Kelso area. Following local searches by 9 team members and 4 from TVMRT he was located outwith our search area. SARDA Southern Scotland and Borders Water Rescue Team were also on standby.

BSARU was paged early to search for a missing woman who'd gone out to walk her dog at midnight and not returned home.  She was located outwith the team's search area.

CALL OUT 23/04/2013

The team was called out  to assist a man who'd suffered a stroke near Windy Gyle. After leaving him to raise the alarm, his wife was also unaccounted for and could not be contacted. Team members located her on the Pennine Way and a rescue helicopter traced her husband.

CALL OUT 27/01/2013

BSARU assisted police in their search for a missing Edinburgh man.  The team was tasked with searching Calton Hill and crags in Holyrood Park.  Members of Borders Water Rescue Team (formerly Borders Under Water Search Team,) located a body in St Margaret's Loch.

CALL OUT 19/01/2013

The team battled their way up to a hut on The Pennine Way to rescue 3 fell runners who were snowbound. The 3 who were competing in The Spine Race, had arrived there last night but were unable to continue due to the heavy, drifting snow. TVMRT joined others from BSAR to make sure some competitors further along the route, got to the finish at Kirk Yetholm.

STANDBY 03/01/2013

Team was paged after a walker injured his ankle on a hill above Kirk Yetholm.  A local farmer managed to assist the man down on his quad bike.
