Local communities vote in February to decide which projects get funding from Scottish Borders Council's Localities Bid Fund
BSARU's project to establish a new Mountain Rescue Base in Kelso has met the criteria to move to the voting stage of Scottish Borders Council’s Localities Bid Fund. More than 130 applications were received. In February, people in local communities will vote to decide which projects get funding.
We're looking for funding for a proper base where we can keep all of our vehicles and equipment as well as being a place our volunteers can train for call-outs.
The base will also be used for open days and education, providing first aid and CPR training to the community.
Voting opens on February 1st and runs for the whole month. We'll post more details soon on who's eligible to vote and where you can do so.
We'd really appreciate your vote - for the team and the local community.
