BSARU team members in 106 mile non-stop winter challenge run!
Imagine running a marathon. Not so tough – eh? Now imagine doing it in the middle of winter... carrying a pack over rough terrain in the mountains. A bit more impressive? Now, imagine after 26.2 miles of slogging though snow, hail, gales and an endless sea of mud carrying on without stopping for another full marathon.
The 108 mile non-stop challenge, which must be completed within 60hrs (…in the depths of winter!) runs from Edale in the Peak District, to Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales following The Pennine Way, and will run along side the Spine® Challenger. This is a notoriously tough event with a similar degree of difficulty as the much longer Spine® Race, which covers the entire 268 miles of The Pennine Way - dubbed ‘Britain’s Most Brutal Race’.
