Thanks to the support of Charity Begins at Home, the team were recently able to purchase new Petzl helmets for all team members. Helmets are essential Personal Protection Kit for many aspects of team work - riverside searches, working on steep ground, working around crags, and falling rocks, winter conditions and working with helicopters.
These new helmets are light and comfortable, as was confirmed by four of our team members attending the Dolomiti Rescue Race in Italy at the beginning of October! The race route involved over 1200m of ascent, via ferratta, abseiling, then a stretcher carry over the last km to the town centre before the well deserved after party.
